Welcome To The Site

A.C. Eco Composite Resins is truly a GREEN, FDA environmentally friendly and organic. Our vegetable oil-based epoxy resin has almost no volatile organic   compounds "VOC's" or detectable fumes, is virtually non-toxic and even hypoallergenic. Third party laboratory testing shows that our VOC content is at   0.0092% in our cured solids testing. Unlike some other "green" epoxy resins, our product contains NO Bisphenol A (BPA) or Epichlorohydrin which are considered toxic and carcinogenic. Please note that our resin is dark green in color, not clear.

A.C.E.C.R (patent pending) is a two-part epoxy resin system that has 43% bio-content, is UV resistant, has virtually no shrinkage, possesses high  elongation properties yet good tensile strength, and has a variable reaction rate handy for controlling cure times. It can be used for the formation of fiber-reinforced composites, adhesive applications, and open and closed molds, and will bind to many surfaces. When hardened, it has high impact resistance, is not brittle and is also not rubbery unless so formulated. If strained (below breaking point), it will recover it's original shape over time after the stress is removed. The properties of the recovered material are nearly the same as the untested material. This means that to some extent, this epoxy resin can self-repair most minor distortions imposed upon it. The Resin is also very stable and would have to exceed a tensile load of nearly 5,000 lbs/in2 before it begins to distort.

In today's society and for the sake of our environment, almost every company in every industry is looking for ways to be more "green" and sustainable. Now, you have the opportunity to go green with our epoxy resin products, and can specify Green Epoxy Resin for your next project. Whether you make fiberglass composites, castings or molds, A.C.E.C.R technology may be a good fit for your application.

Our vegetable oil-based (VOB) two-part epoxy system relates to hypoallergenic and virtually non-toxic green organic resins for use in the formation of fiberglass and other fiber reinforced composites. During the curing stage, the VOB system does not vent off or contain any volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) and is non-toxic.

1) The VOB system has demonstrated elongation properties of more than 5-10 times that of the standard resin systems.

2) The chemistry of this VOB system allows for the formation of tough leather-like materials as well as a hard, but resilient materials. This lends itself to forming a wide array of products.

3) Because this material can form a firm leather-like material, it readily absorbs shock without initiating tears or cracks. When used to make fiberglass or other fiber reinforced composites, a product emerges that is very hard and yet shows exceptional elongation properties that enable it to absorb intense shocks without initiating failures. The resin and fiber work well together to produce the best properties in the composite.

4) Because of the system dependency on a catalyst, it is possible to vastly change the reaction rate without altering the properties of the cured material. This helps to simplify the system and make it more versatile.

5) An interesting feature of our green resin system is the way it works with our unique catalyst. The rate of cure is strongly dependent on the cure temperature and increases by a factor of 3-5 times with temperatures ranging from 60 °F to 90 °F. This allows one to use a catalyst level that provides a long working time at room temperature, but permits the product to cure in a short period of time, in a warm room, so that production rates are not slowed up. The cure rate is also very sensitive to the catalyst level. Small increases in the catalyst cause inordinately large increases in the cure rate which is not normally expected in chemical kinetics.

A.C.E.C.R was founded by Arthur Katzakian and co-founded by Craig Katzakian.

As a former lead Sr. Scientist at Aerojet Corporation, Art Katzakian developed leading-edge materials and systems for aerospace travel and applications, winning Aerojet several patent applications. Art also possessed a PhD in Organic Chemistry and patented several products during his retirement as well, many with his son Craig Katzakian.

These technologies were all designed through material science engineering, and many were based around “green” solutions for different applications such as desalination of salt water, non-toxic repair putty and non-toxic sculpting clay.

Known for his entrepreneurial spirit and energetic drive, Art touched many people and industries both professionally and personally in his life. Art loved nature and the outdoors and also had a passion for environmentally friendly and sustainable products/solutions for many applications.

Craig Katzakian has been responsible for production, technical support and formulations for A.C.E.C.R. Green Resin Products. Craig’s forte is developing and refining these “green” technologies, whether it is in the lab or on-site and is always there to make sure quality assurance is at it’s prime.
